Title:
PRR 4914, GG-1, 1965
Description:
WIL-ALT-65. Here is an original photo that I took while riding in a Pennsylvania Railroad passenger train from North Philadelphia to Harrisburg during August of 1965. Shown here is PRR engine #4914, a GG-1 built in Juniata during June of 1942. It is pulling a passenger train from Harrisburg to Philadelphia and points East. Both trains are moving at around 60 miles per hour. Zoom-Zoom!

Title:
PRR 4428, E-44, 1966
Description:
Electric Action. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Hank Goerke that was taken in Glenolden, Pennsylvania, in November of 1966. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #4428, #4914, and another "G" whose road number is not recorded. #4428 is an E-44 (C-C) built by General Electric in January of 1962 and rated at 4,400 horsepower. #4914 is a GG-1 (2-C-C-2) built in Juniata during June of 1942 and rated at 4,620 horsepower. How many pantographs do you count?
