Hood type with low short hood. 16-645E engine rated at 2200 flywheel bhp delivering 2000hp into AR6 alternator for traction (AR6 to be confirmed). Used on bulk woodchip traffic Manjimup - Bunbury. Originally numbered DB1581-1592. Renumbered by ARG to DB2301-2312. As locos were fitted with ZTE traction controls, they were reclassified DBZ. (railpage.com.au)
